London, UK

24TH – 28TH SEPTEMBER 2012

Host organization: BFI

The meeting began with an introduction to the BFI which helped to create more understanding about the UK partner and its activities.
Project coordinators from the participating organisations shared information about their respective countries in terms of their own learning activities which included presentations and investigations into the issues addressed by the project – the emergence of the problem of obesity and approaches to healthy eating and initiatives around this – which were warmly received and praised and helped to create an awareness of how this was being tackled at national level. This helped in providing a framework of co-operation for the project going forward to the next step.
The UK programme included a practical session on how to create a ‘cooking video’ using relevant technology – camera’s and editing – and this succeeded in allaying fears about using this medium once the project activities are implemented. A focus on further training was agreed for the follow up partner meeting. There was an overview of how to approach this in a practical sense i.e. lighting, sound and content and we looked at a cookery programme produced in the UK in order that this guide the principals of learning this particular medium.
There was a really useful discussion on how each partner felt they could best achieve the objectives in producing the outcomes – the cookery video’s – once all the training has been accomplished.
